Leuven City Center
Leuven City Center lets you step into a living history book with its Gothic Town Hall and medieval cobblestone streets. Students from one of Europe's oldest universities buzz through ancient squares while church bells echo across centuries. St. Peter's Church towers majestically above, while the peaceful Groot Begijnhof offers a quiet retreat from the energetic academic atmosphere. The compact layout makes exploring on foot a breeze, with traditional brown cafés serving local Stella Artois beer just steps from authentic Flemish restaurants. Most attractions sit within a 10-minute walk, and frequent buses connect to Brussels in just 30 minutes. Boutique hotels in converted historic buildings provide the perfect base for your Flemish adventure.

Heverlee
Heverlee blends academic energy with peaceful green spaces, creating a unique Belgian escape. KU Leuven's campus brings scholarly vibes while Arenberg Castle's neo-Gothic towers and manicured grounds offer Instagram-worthy backdrops. Students zip around on bikes between tree-lined streets and botanical gardens, giving you that authentic college-town feel without tourist crowds. Student-friendly cafés serve affordable Belgian comfort food that won't break your budget. Most visitors stay in modest B&Bs run by friendly locals since hotels are limited. De Lijn buses connect you to downtown Leuven in just 15 minutes, but walking or renting a bike is how locals roll.

Kessel-Lo
Kessel-Lo offers a peaceful retreat from Leuven's bustle while showcasing everyday Belgian suburban life. The Provincial Domain park steals the show with lakes, trails, and recreational areas where you can stretch your legs or simply breathe in the fresh air. Historic Vlierbeek Abbey adds a touch of old-world charm, while tree-lined streets with red-brick homes create a quintessentially Flemish atmosphere. Buses connect you to Leuven's center in just 15-20 minutes, making day trips a breeze. Local cafés serve traditional Flemish dishes without the tourist markup. The neighborhood winds down early, perfect for travelers who appreciate quiet evenings and authentic experiences over nightlife.
Hertogensite
Leuven's Hertogensite neighborhood has a host of places to visit such as Kruidtuin Botanical Garden and Dyle.

Warwick Brussels Grand-Place
"Loved this hotel - so conveniently located near the train station and so walkable - right around the corner from many great bars and restaurants! I would definitely stay here again!"
Motel One Brussels
"Just back from a great stay at this hotel. We arrived early and turned up at the hotel expecting just to drop our bags off as we were way to early to check in but the lovely lady called Elena (not sure of the spelling) on reception checked us in early and gave us a garden facing room. She was very welcoming and helpful indeed. This was fantastic as these rooms are so quiet. We never heard a sound the whole time we were there and the bed was very comfortable too. This was very welcome as we were so busy on tours during the day. The hotel is very clean and our room was cleaned every day throughout our stay. The shower was also good. We did not eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on breakfast. You are not far away from the main areas central station is about 5-10 mins walk away and it is very well located for the pick up points for various bus tours to Luxembourg, Brugge and Amsterdam etc. This was a reason I chose this hotel. You are also about 15 mins walk to the Grand Place area and the Royal Palace. There's a Carrafeur supermarket nearby and also some restaurants and eating places along the street. I would happily stay here again if I were staying in Brussels. It was excellent value for money for the price I paid."

Holiday Inn Brussels Airport by IHG
"Emily checked us in. She was absolutely fantastic. She was cordial and engaging. She made sure that we had everything we needed. Throughout our stay, Emily was always available to help with anything we needed. The staff at breakfast was great. I would stay at this location again. I would not take the airport shuttle. It’s too much of a pain. I definitely would Uber to the hotel. I Uber to the airport this morning. Best way to do it."
