Great location - walkable. Easy parking behind the building. Well appointed guest house. Rooms are small & no extra common space to hang out. So you are either in your room or in the kitchen. Despite the white noise machine you can definitely hear the other occupants of the house. Hosts did leave ear plugs too. Delicious breakfast & lovely hosts. Very clean & modern furnishings.
Great location! We found Ottawa to be very walkable from the Alt Hotel. Their bar and bartenders is excellent, and we enjoyed a few rounds of pool as well. I would stay here again.
We opted for the Gold plan and loved it! Breakfast was included, small plate appetizers and canapés and then dessert served in an exclusive common room from 5:00. Excellent service.
But the hotel needs some refurbishing and updating. The desk chair in our room was literally shredded. This is a premium property. A wonderful and historic and perfectly located hotel. The Fairmount needs to give it some love.
We'd definitely stay again! The location is perfect if your priorities are seeing Parliament and experiencing the amazing restaurants and shops on Elgin street. We visited in February and everything we wanted to see/do was within a 25 min walk.
The staff were really lovely and happy to make recommendations -- especially the valets. The pool and hot tub are nice.
Only drawback(s) were we thought all rooms came with robes and slippers, which we were looking forward to for before/after the pool...

Space in the room is exceptional. Felt like home. Ample space for storage which would be hand if families visit.
