The hotel staff went above and beyond helping us, even after we checked out and had to make it to the airport for a late flight. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel, though the V&A area is a bit of a hike - took us about 25 minutes. Breakfast is delicious.
The staff at this hotel I can't find enough great things to say about them! This will be my go to hotel anytime I visit Cape Town in the future! All of them provided excellent customer service.
This hotel is within an easy walk of the waterfront, an area full of restaurants, museums, and shopping malls with lots to do. It's in a safe location (although I was warned about walking the area after dark). The hotel has a set of unique rooms which all seem different. The staff remembered me from my last stay, which was nice. There's no in-house restaurant for breakfast, but considering how close the waterfront is, that's no big deal.
The place was clean And well appointed. It’s a large comfortable nice space. Check in was easy and it has a facial recognition system for entry. Really enjoyed the thoughtful touches on the room and the washer/dryer combo was a lifesaver after our luggage was delayed!
Stayed here for over a week. The entire structure is brand new (very multi-use: restaurants, apartments, etc). Location is good - on the edge of Bo Kaap, on the edge of De Waterkant, 15 minute walk to the waterfront, 5 minutes from everything you would want - coffee, groceries, restaurant, etc., 10 mins to CBD. The shuttle van runs about every hour to the waterfront - this was rather confusing, as the times were off and not easy to find. The staff really outdid themselves in taking care of me...
The staff was amazing. My wife became ill and was taken to the ER. Ana, the manager of the hotel actually came to the hospital in the middle of the night to support us and went out of her way to help. I have traveled all over the world and have never been so well treated as we were at The Grey Hotel. The overall stay was great.
The hotel was modern and very nice. However the shower flooded the bathroom every time you used it. They also had a 6AM yoga class that you could hear in the room. Other than that the r property was spacious, clean, modern and safe. The check in process was a little wild. They used facial recognition each time you entered the building and had cameras watching all the halls. It was a bit Big Brother is watching you. However, we would stay again for the space, comfort, and convenience.
Design of property was great. (Bare brick walls combined with modern black and red features). The gym was more than adequate and the pool a BONUS.

This is a small (5 rooms) guest house in a great neighborhood (The Waterkant). The house is beautiful with a small well-kept garden. Our room was in the basement (which sounds worse than what it actually was), but I think a room higher up would have been nicer. There is no reception at the house so the check-in procedure was a little more complicated than it should have been. We arrived in the evening and had been promised that a manager would be there to greet us, but that did not happen. So we...
A warm welcome greeted us on arrival. The team gave helpful advice and nothing was too much trouble, even offering to run to the pharmacist for medication. Breakfast was delicious. A wonderful boutique hotel with fantastic staff. Highly recommend.
What an amazing experience. Despite our fluctuating schedule requirements, Ciska was fabulously responsive. Upper floor rooms, seaside and Table Mountain side were fabulous. We will definitely be bacjk!
Nice quiet hotel with a view of Table Mountain. The hotel is on it's own pier, so it s close to the action of the waterfront, but is nice and quiet for sleeping.
Fabulous guest house with an amazing staff and beautifully decorated. Attention was given to every detail and we were made to feel like family. Everything was spot on. Thank you Luca and team for such a lovely visit
