The Roldal Stave Church was built between 1200 and 1250, and is famous for its healing crucifix still in the church. According to legend it sweats once a year on “Olsok” (July 6th after the Julian calendar), and the sweat has healing power. "Staff were super accommodating and friendly. We arrived at 5 am and the offered to turn the lights down in the lounge so we could sleep. Let us store our luggage until we could get our room and when we left for a day trip. Food was wonderful as well. "
