Hotel Catedral
8/10 Good
"The location is great, especially for someone who is visiting Mexico City for the first time. Many rooms provide a direct view of the Cathedral and glimpses of the Zocalo, Mexico City's main historic square. Museums, good restaurants, archaeological sites, and the subway are just a short walk away. The bar on the top floor is particularly nice, but don't eat at the restaurant that's by the hotel's rear entrance: as of March 2026, the restaurant is being redone or was being redone at some point giving a shabby atmosphere & the food wasn't great. The breakfast buffet (served elsewhere) is fine, however. The rest of the hotel is in good condition.
The only real issue is that the hotel may not be good for people who are sensitive to noise, as sounds from the square filter in until around 10:00-11:00 PM and in some rooms you can hear chairs squeaking on the floor of the bar area above, which are quite loud, until 11:00PM when the bar closes. I highly recommend that the hotel invests in some pads for the chair feet that reduce the scraping sounds on the floor or on new quieter chairs if necessary. Overall, we had a good experience, however. "
"Because I arrived late at night, tired and ready to sleep, and ALL the pillows were very dirty and smelled of sweat. And it was obvious that the sheets on the bed hadn't been changed."
"Professional courteous friendly willingness to assist with our questions Staff always available and your business center was exceptionally serviced and meals were excellent. Definitely will highly recommend Galleria Plaza Reforma Mexico City"
"The hotel is not a place that you should stay for more than one night. I’m glad that I only did one night. Floor is very dirty, WiFi spotty. Have to leave your ID in order to get the AC remote. There were flies in my room. I had no food or refrigerator to even store food. So I’m not sure why there were flies. Overall, poor place to stay. "
"Room for was well appointed with drawers and hanging space. Also surfaces to allow you to spread out. Bed’s were made every day as well as clean towels supplied. Basic but comfortable."
