Learn more about Point Judith
Waves crash against the iconic Point Judith Lighthouse, where fishing boats return with the day's catch destined for local clam shacks. Cast a line from the rocky shoreline or spread a towel at Scarborough Beach, where surfers ride Atlantic swells with varying degrees of success. The bustling hamlet of Galilee feels delightfully stuck in time, with weathered fishermen mending nets beside tourists queuing for the Block Island Ferry. Roger W. Wheeler State Beach offers calmer waters for families, while Sand Hill Cove provides perfect sunset viewing. The seafood couldn't be fresher – order it fried with a side of ocean views at unpretentious shacks where paper plates and plastic forks are part of the authentic experience.

Howard Johnson by Wyndham Middletown Newport Area

Newport Harbor Island Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful place and scenery."
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Stonington-Mystic Area
10/10 Excellent
"A GREAT experience. I needed a room quickly. I went on Expedia to look for something in the area. I confess. I didn't know what I thought of the La Quinta "brand". I was worried it would be awful. But I decided to take a chance since it was already 8pm. And... What a pleasant surprise! Very clean. Really kind and attentive staff. A clean swimming pool (indoor) A weight room. 24 hour coffee / teas - yogurt... And a breakfast in the morning. Could not have been happier. I will definitely stay at La Quinta properties in the future. And this one in particular. Sleep well!"
The Carriage House Inn Newport

The Break Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Our first and not our last visit. Beautiful, clean and impeccably maintained property close to beaches and restaurants. The only minor negative comment was the unreliability of their so called shuttle to the 4-5 stops noted . We never saw it during our 2 night stay after trying once to use it. Everything else was wonderful."
Hotel Viking
10/10 Excellent
"I could not say enough about the Viking hotel in Newport, Rhode Island! My stay was exceptional, the food was off the charts, the accommodations were wonderful, there was just such a wonderful BUZZ going around in the hotel. People were coming for weddings and parties and everybody was so gracious. The shop did not disappoint either. The chocolate croissant, the amazing cappuccino. The highlight was probably when I arrived, and I had the most amazing Barada, oysters, and a glass of rosé. I will be going back for sure, I would like it to be every month!"
