If you’re traveling to Abel Tasman, this gem is a must. From delicious breakfasts and dinners by Chef Valeriy to the picturesque views and private beach, this top my list of favorite places I have stayed.
Lodge by the Beach was one of the most memorable lodgings we’ve ever stayed in.
Designed and built by the architect-owner, Alan with industrial grade materials for safety and various art pieces brought in from overseas, the property is truly amazing.
Perched atop a hill near the Split Apple Rock with breathtaking views of the ocean and lush forests, it even offers the private access to a secluded, pristine beach, which made our stay feel like a true escape from the world.
The culinary...
We had the most amazing stay at drift off grid. The place was even more beautiful than I remember from the Expedia photos. Stunning views, extremely comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom and the hospitable touches from our hosts Jana and Drew were lovely. Our favorite accommodation in New Zealand by far!
Very welcoming. 5 star experience in a small coastal town beside the world class hiking and beauty of Abel Tasman National Park.
All of the dinners and wine pairing were simply amazing.
This was our best stay in the 2 weeks on the South Island.
We really enjoyed our stay at Nautilus Lodge. Diane and Graem were wonderful, and very helpful in guiding us to optimize our time while at Abel Tasman!
The Rocks is a hidden gem, a plethora of flowering and fruiting plants, whimsical touches, a glow worm grotto and very engaging staff.
If anything wasn't in your chalet, there was a common cooking and laundry area. Not only did we use some things, we shared some of our extras. So much better then thowing some things in the rubbish!
The outside garden view seating is very peaceful; shared kitchen has everything one could need and is a nice social space. The muffin for breakfast might be the best I have ever tasted and farm fresh eggs are a major bonus.
VERY clean. Convenient to town. We had a free standing suite with out own bathroom, refrig and tea pot. Also access to main housr kitchen and laundry facilities.
First experience with a Hostel, and wont be our last.
