"This hotel is an excellent location in Amsterdam as it is easy to go everywhere with the trams but also you can walk to nice restaurants and the main museums. The building really stands out with its architecture and the dining room is quite atmospheric. The restaurant is excellent too! Staff was very helpful, rooms very clean and comfy - a little minus on the layout and the decoration:)"

The apartment is just a 2 minute walk to the museum campus, a grocery store, cafes, restaurants, and the tram that can take you almost anywhere you want to go. The apartment was clean and super quiet. Even had an elevator which in Europe is a big plus! "

"Really enjoyed our three night stay at Hotel van de Vijsel. It's very convenient located close to the Vondrelpark, the Museumplein and the Leidseplein. The hotel is quiet with an excellent air conditioning system and comfortable bed. It was our wedding anniversary, so I ordered there special package of bubbly, chocolates, balloons and petals. My wife loved the surprise and the bubbly was a gorgeous Spanish Cava and the chocs were delicious. Well done Hotel van de Vijsel!"

"Great location, easy check in, rooms are clean neat. Bathroom is large and clean. Staff friendly and easy to get in and out. stairs are steep and narrow so if you are not fit and steady, getting up and down with a bag may be challenging. We didn't mind. Bar across the way is fun, a little loud at night but all part of the experience. Its in the heart of Amsterdam so it was a good part of the experience."

Reception is located on the 4th floor, and we had to enter through the lobby of the hotel next door to access it (via a closed plaza between them). Desk staff were pleasant and helpful.
