Hotels in Fichtenau

The best place we stayed during our 2 week travel in Bavaria. The hotel has two buildings. We stayed in the historic one, and the ambience is charming. The newer one, where the checkin desk is located, is also nice. Both hotel restaurants offer great dinner options. The breakfast (served in the newer building) is excelent -- one again, the best in these two weeks. The location is most central. Parking: you can park overnight for free in the street just nearby, during the day it is 2 hour limit....

Tolles moderneres Hotel mit sehr sauberen Zimmern und bequemen Betten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir fühlten uns tatsächlich willkommen. Außerdem sehr kinderfreundlich. Es liegt fussläufig zur Altstadt. Wir haben das Hotel zufällig entdeckt und waren sehr begeistert. Sollte es uns erneut in die Gegend verschlagen, würden wir es erneut buchen

Everything was perfect about this hotel. The only thing I missed in my room was a kettle to make a tea or instant coffee. Overall this stay was one my best experiences.

Hotel was a great place to getaway close to many castles to visit and countryside to take it. The room was set up beautifully and came stocked with snacks and drinks. The hotel restaurant was great we ate there 2 of our 4 nights. The Menu is very accommodating and the staff very friendly and helpful (they have English menus as an option).

A wonderful old hotel, owned by the same couple since 1968.

Room was excellent, roomy and very clean. We enjoyed the large bathroom and the heated floors. Breakfast was very nice. Reception was superb.

We had room number 5, which was a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen and balcony. It had a separate dining area and 2 couches. The bathroom was large and each room offered a nice view. Our hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that at 6 am the nearby church bells went off for what seemed like a few minutes without letup and that woke us all up.

If you are traveling the Romantic Road in Bavaria, you could not do better than to take a small detour to stay at this delightful small inn. From the delicious breakfast with eggs to order--The housemade bircher meusli is the best I've ever had--to the beautifully appointed rooms everything is geared to welcome and comfort you. Pastries to welcome you, a box of chocolates, and a free welcome drink from the well-stocked refrigerator in your room are all part of the experience, carefully...

Staff was super. They were very helpful and kind. Almost stayed another night....

Very cool place

A great property easily accessible and convenient to sights in the area. While the property and rooms are pretty basic, it is very clean and has all the essentials and good amount of space. The high ceilings make them feel bigger. My only suggestion is to upgrade the mattresses as they are simply plastic covered foam pads. A perfect place for a night or as a base to explore. Check-in was done through a self-service check-in machine that also supports Japanese, and the staff was friendly and wonderful. The location is also convenient as it is a short walk to Nordlingen!
