The location was beautiful. Amazing scenic views in every direction with Volterra on the hill in the distance! The villa was perfect for our family of 4. The kids loved to cool off in the pool after a day of sightseeing and the owners were helpful with any questions we had. Truly a perfect Tuscan getaway!
What a wonderful accommodation this was! After hiking the long uphill to reach Gambassi Terme, Villa della Certosa was an oasis. My wife drove while I hiked the Via Francigena. She easily found parking. The Villa was in a beautiful location, off the main road. We were greeted warmly and check-in was easy. The room was comfortable and the breakfast good. Great place to stay.
We loved this place! Getting here was a bit tricky, as the map we were given in the welcome email was of bad quality, so it didn't take us to the correct place right away, but we figured it out, very minor. I'm sure you can ask for a better quality map. When we arrived to check in, we were greeted by Lisa, who was oh so very helpful! Old hotel in an old mountain top town. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. The price was so worth it. The resort has a delicious restaurant, comfortable and luxurious accommodations, a lovely bar, relaxing pool area, and the most amazing Tuscan hills view. We can attest that the romantic sunset they promote is spot on. There is a quaint downtown a 10 minutes walk away as well. It was conveniently located to Florence and many other Tuscan locations. It was amazing to get an authentic Tuscan experience.
Limited transportation and the taxis were extremely expensive they will charge 165 euros one way for 30 minute drive. If you plan to go to Tuscany you need a car btw most cars are manual I don’t know how to drive it so I was stuck in the hotel for few days. To use public transportation you need to walk 39 minutes and is a lil dangerous because they don’t have side walk in the 15minutes from your trip.

Amazing in every way. The beauty of waking around is unlike any other. When we got there after a long day of traveling we had just missed the lunchtime to eat, and when went to shower the handle broke off- this is not a complaint.
