Monnickendam is well-known for its attractions such as Markermeer and In de Bonten Os. The city has something for everyone including sights like Grote Kerk and De Waegh within a small-town setting.
The staff were kind and so hopeful and gave amazing recommendations for dining. There is an enchanting bakery only a few steps from the Posthoorn. It was a quiet and cozy reprieve from city adventuring.
Everything was perfect. Property is beautiful and staffs are kind. I enjoyed fitness and sauna too. The only drawback is checkout time at 11am is a bit too early. Hope it is 12pm.
The hotel was clean and quiet. Conveniently located close to a tram stop. Only negative thing is they don’t have a ramp for luggages and stroller. You have to carry your luggage a few flight of stairs going into the lobby
The location of this hotel is perfect. Easy to walk to tourist attractions but far enough away that it’s quiet and peaceful. Added bonus - they have a cat that we were able to pet!
My bf and I had an AMAZING stay here! We booked a penthouse suite and it did not disappoint. Great panoramic views of the city, walkable to the Overamstel station, great amenities and great room. Only downside is it is about a 20min train ride to the central area of town so we’ll likely stay closer next time but for a luxury stay, we would highly recommend.
Hotel is outside of Amsterdam main city. A tram connects you to Amsterdam Central. Hotel is very famous. Cab drivers, Bus drivers and everyone in Amsterdam knows this hotel. Hotel staffs are super helpful and friendly.
All the rooms are different which makes them interesting. Comfortables beds, though pillows could be softer. Free bottle of champagne in suite was nice surprise. Loved the tea and pressed coffee set up in room for mornings or chilly afternoons. A steamer in the closet is better than ironing board. Room was quiet for outside noise, but some mechanical noises but not awful. Room service was good and Janz was excellent for breakfast and dinner. Area around hotel was great boutique shopping. Excellent choice if you don't want to overpay for a hotel near the city center. Clean, minimal and eco-friendly rooms, friendly staff and well-maintained facilities made our stay very pleasant. I would definitely stay there again!
Really the perfect hotel for the museum tour, in easy walking distance to all of them. The canal is lovely and quiet, tons of busy restaurants in a 4-5 block radius, lively night-life, friendly, busy, fun. Lobby recently renovated and very enjoyable with a view of the canal -- the breakfast service is superlative. What's not to love? If you stay, book a panoramic room, you won't be disappointed.
We would like to appreciate the excellent service we received at front desk since our flight from Ireland was early and our rooms were not ready yet. The front desk expeditiously attempted to have the rooms ready as soon as possible, and they did! The rooms were clean and huge. And the buffet selections were impressive. The free shuttle service to the airport was a plus. We will surely use this hotel once we come back to Amsterdam again!
