Newport Coast
Newport Coast dazzles with dramatic ocean views and sun-kissed luxury at every turn. Crystal Cove State Park offers pristine wilderness trails and beach access while championship golf courses at Pelican Hill tempt even casual players. This exclusive enclave blends Mediterranean-inspired architecture with California coastal beauty, creating a serene retreat from busier tourist areas. Resort dining dominates with ocean-view restaurants and upscale shopping options at Newport Coast Shopping Center. Accommodations range from world-class resorts with spa facilities to premium vacation rentals. A car is essential for exploring the winding hillside roads, as public transit options are limited.

Lido Isle
This exclusive island feels like Newport Beach's best-kept secret, where quiet waterfront paths wind around luxury homes and private docks. Stroll the perimeter trail for million-dollar views of bobbing yachts and the glittering harbor. The vibe is peaceful and upscale, a welcome escape from touristy beaches yet just minutes from Newport Pier. Getting around means having wheels since public transit is limited here. Nearby Lido Marina Village offers boutique shopping and waterfront dining when you're ready to venture off this residential enclave. Most visitors stay in high-end vacation rentals with enviable water views and private amenities.

Getting around requires a car, though the tree-lined streets make for pleasant walks close to your accommodation. Most visitors opt for luxury vacation rentals rather than hotels. When hunger strikes, you'll need to venture beyond the neighborhood boundaries to Newport's renowned dining scene.

Learn more about Newport Beach
Forget the glitz of 'The O.C.' - the real Newport Beach delivers California dreams without requiring a millionaire's budget. Balboa Pier extends into the Pacific like an exclamation point, while sailors navigate the harbor with the casual confidence of people who consider boats essential transportation. Fashion Island mall offers retail therapy between beach sessions, though locals prefer the quirky charm of Balboa Island's waterfront shops. Take the charming ferry to explore this man-made island's boutiques and frozen banana stands (yes, just like on television). Crystal Cove's tide pools reveal miniature underwater worlds, while Newport Dunes provides calm waters perfect for families. The Balboa Fun Zone maintains its old-school carnival atmosphere despite the surrounding affluence.

Extended Stay America Suites Orange County John Wayne Airprt
"We have stayed here before. Nice rooms however dust on top of refrigerator mold on inside of freezer You have to ask for everything e.g. plates, toilet paper, utensils, cleaning service is only every two weeks"
Balboa Inn, On the Beach
"The property is in a perfect location - across the street is the beach and pier and in the opposite direction it is steps from the Fun Zone and the Balboa Ferry. They have valet parking but it is expensive. We parked in the public parking and had no trouble. They have a included continental breakfast with prepackaged muffins but literally on the corner is a nice restaurant for breakfast and in the "lobby" (breezeway at the bottom of the stairs) is a restaurant we did not eat at but is convenient. The pool is small and the jacuzzi was busy. We did not use them but they are on property. The place is bigger than it looks - it is mostly on the second and third floors above the shops and restaurant at street level. The room was smallish but the bed was nice."
Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel
"We enjoyed the hotel, the food was ok"
Hotel Solarena Newport Beach, a Dazzler Select by Wyndham
"Convenient"
Pendry Newport Beach
"Our stay at the Pendry was amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. The entire staff was great, especially Eric, Gen and Deven. My family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality from these 3. They went above and beyond from beginning to end - catering to all requests. Thank you Eric, Gen and Deven for taking care of my kids, my wife and myself the entire weekend. The Pendry is in great hands with you three. We will be back soon! "
Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel
"Room with “partial ocean view” as marketed does not see any ocean at all. Parking on weekends at the hotel is turned into valet and they give all the spots to people not staying there at night. Cleanliness great. Towels and bathroom great. Central location between the beach and marina. At night streets and bars dominated by 20 year olds."
Newport Channel Inn - Near Huntington State Beach
"Good stay for the price, located across the street from beach access - helpful and accommodating staff."
Dorymans Oceanfront Inn
"Great location Parking and check in were a bit of a pain but wish we had stayed here longer"
Little Inn By The Bay Newport Beach
"we enjoyed our stay very much, there really wasn’t any amenities to speak of, but everything was in walking distance, which made it very helpful. The only downside is the room that we had was on the street side, which we enjoyed however at night it was very noisy because of other people partying we would definitely stay here again, very affordable, clean and very accessible to everything we wanted to have."
