Learn more about Sugarcreek
Beneath the world's largest cuckoo clock, this 'Little Switzerland of Ohio' blends Swiss heritage with Amish tradition. Horse-drawn buggies clip-clop past Alpine-style buildings while cheese factories offer samples showcasing why this village became Ohio's Swiss cheese center. The Ohio Star Theater celebrates simple living, while the Alpine Hills Historical Museum chronicles these converging cultures. David Warther's intricate ship carvings display seemingly impossible craftsmanship. Train enthusiasts enjoy the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum's massive locomotives. Experience Amish life at The Farm at Walnut Creek where draft horses still power fieldwork, and find handcrafted treasures at the Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market.

"I had forgotten what staying in an older, in-town hotel was like. Parking is a little inconvenient and things like room security were a little sketch. We apparently had a room in an older section and the wooden door did have a deadbolt but it couldn't be locked from outside when you left the room. I tried to talk to the lady in the office about that obvious security shortcoming early in our stay; she just kind of shrugged and said she'd ask housekeeping about it. I never heard back from anyone about it. Other than that, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, and things pretty much functioned as they should. For the price we paid (great bargain), it was fine for our purposes. I would stay again but only at a bargain rate like we got this time."
Comfort Suites Hotel and Conference Center

"The beds were too soft for me, but that is a personal preference and not a mark against the hotel. The room was air conditioning sucked. It didn't work well. It would go from cold to hot Then back to cold."

"This was our 4th time staying in one of the train cars. They have updated the train car rooms over the years. They are very nice and modern inside! I have not had to mention this in the past, but this trip, the room shades did not provide enough outside light blockage for nighttime. It seems there are more outside lights? I hope the owners will provide room darkening shades/drapes for their guests. We did have a hard time falling asleep and our friends in the next train car did too. If I stay here again, it will be in the building, unless shades are provided."
