Learn more about Zadar
Along the seafront promenade, the Sea Organ plays haunting melodies created by waves pushing air through underwater pipes. Nearby, the Sun Salutation captures daylight and creates a mesmerizing light show after sunset. Roman ruins stand alongside medieval churches in this ancient walled city, where history feels casually abundant. The Cathedral of St. Anastasia towers over narrow limestone streets that open suddenly into sunny squares. Duck into the Museum of Ancient Glass to see delicate Roman artifacts displayed with surprising wit. After exploring Zadar's old town, join locals at sunset when they gather by the sea. The Times didn't call this the "entertainment center of the Adriatic" for nothing.

Hotel A'mare
"Loved our stays at Hotel A’Mare. We stayed twice over the past couple of weeks - once arriving from Geneva and again after returning from Sestrunj and the service was fantastic both times. From reception to housekeeping and the restaurant team, everyone was brilliant. And the breakfast is an absolute feast - don’t miss it! On our second stay, Marco and Petra at reception warmly welcomed us back and really looked after us. Having travelled to 58 countries myself and my husband to 64, we’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and met a lot of hotel staff over the years — and Marco is one of those people you remember. An absolute legend. We arrived late and he was worried about whether we’d managed to get dinner; when he heard we were leaving at 5am, he immediately wanted to see what he could arrange for us to take some food with us. Just incredibly thoughtful & kind. The hotel itself feels new, fresh and spotlessly clean, but it’s really the staff who make it. They are absolute gems and such a credit to the hotel. If we’re back in Zadar, we’ll definitely stay at Hotel A’Mare again."
Apartments Villa Karla
"The property was centrally located, very convenient to the old town sites and restaurants. The bed rooms were in a loft area of the apartment, suitable for our family. The washing machine worked well, and the apartment had the amenities we wanted. The parking is a bit of a challenge(expensive) but it’s the price you pay to stay in the old town area."
Art Hotel Kalelarga
"The hotel was beautifully designed and receptionist on arrival was extremely helpful. Breakfast crew on 2/9/26 were lovely but felt member of staff on duty at breakfast on 3/9/26 was rude"
Hotel Mediteran
"Great property to stay in - had the best nights sleep here of my whole trip - would not hesitate to stay here again,"
Hotel Kolovare
"Location for the beach and the old town was great. Only 15 mins to the entrance but it's another 15mins to the end of the old town so you will walk 25-30 mins back in the evenings most evenings. But the location to the beach and the walk everyday more than makes up for this. Breakfast was great - good mix of hot and continental. Really good quality scrambled eggs. Limited lunch and dinner options for vegetarians but plenty of great food options in the old town. Rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily to a high standard."
Boutique Hostel Forum
"Wish we had stayed longer as we really enjoyed the stay! Great view from our room and was close to everything we needed. Be mindful you will need to carry your luggage from the nearest gate to the hotel as it is in the old town where cars are not permitted. We were surprised to find our room walls outfitted with mirrors, which was low key kind of a vibe. Enjoy."
Heritage hotel Bastion
"A wonderful hotel right in the heart of Old Town with a view of the water. The most lovely surprise what the excellent food and service of the attached Restaurant Kastel - seriously delicious and exquisitely prepared. I’d definitely stay here again."
