Fairhaven
Fairhaven charms visitors with its brick-lined streets and Victorian architecture straight out of a history book. Browse independent bookstores and artisan galleries before strolling Taylor Dock, which stretches into Bellingham Bay's sparkling waters. Marine Park offers perfect spots to watch ferries glide toward the San Juan Islands while sipping locally-roasted coffee. The neighborhood's cozy cafes and bistros serve fresh Pacific Northwest seafood in historic buildings with character to spare. Most shops and restaurants cluster within the walkable historic core, making exploration a breeze. While public transit is limited, the compact layout means everything's just a short stroll away.

Bellingham City Center
Bellingham City Center packs historic charm and cultural treasures into a walkable core of brick buildings and tree-lined streets. The 1927 Mount Baker Theatre lights up evenings with performances, while the Old City Hall stands as a proud landmark. Travelers can explore galleries, catch street musicians, or browse the farmers market at Commercial Street Plaza. Dining options range from cozy cafes to craft breweries where Pacific Northwest flavors shine through fresh seafood and local produce. Boutique hotels in restored historic buildings make perfect home bases at moderate prices. Most downtown attractions sit within a three-block radius, making exploration easy on foot, while WTA buses connect to wider Bellingham adventures.

Columbia
Columbia offers a peaceful retreat from tourist crowds with tree-lined streets and mountain views just minutes from downtown Bellingham. You can stroll quiet residential blocks or take a short drive to nearby Squalicum Beach and Marine Life Center for some coastal fun. Mount Baker Theatre and Spark Museum await culture seekers, while Bellis Fair Mall satisfies shopping needs. Stay in charming vacation rentals or bed & breakfasts that cost less than downtown options. While dining choices are limited in the neighborhood, you'll find family-run cafes perfect for breakfast before heading out. A car is recommended to fully explore this authentic suburban gem and the surrounding attractions.

South Hill
South Hill's tree-lined streets showcase stunning Victorian and Craftsman homes from the early 1900s. The peaceful residential neighborhood offers a true retreat from Bellingham's busier areas with mature gardens and scenic walking opportunities. Adjacent Fairhaven Park provides green space for visitors who appreciate architectural heritage and quiet surroundings. Accommodation options include charming bed & breakfasts in converted Victorian houses and vacation rentals in historic homes. While dining and shopping require a quick trip to nearby Fairhaven or downtown Bellingham, the neighborhood's walkable streets and authentic community atmosphere make it worth the short journey.

Wingate by Wyndham Bellingham Heritage Inn
"Hi, the tv was caught in a computer update mode and it detected new software but could never complete. Therefore no tv all afternoon, evening and following morning."
Bay City Inn
"Bay City Inn has been wonderful, and my King bed room is lovely, spacious, comfortable, and spotless. Cable TV and A/C included. And, location is within walking distance to nearby grocery and drug stores, as well as bus lines directly to the city center and bus transit station. In addition, all the staff I have met, including the front desk have been very friendly and helpful. I was expecting the complimentary continental breakfast of coffee and pastries the first morning. Instead, it was surprisingly wide-ranging and abundant - tea, milk, coffee, orange juice, bagels, waffles, toast, jam, cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, quality yogurt (Chobani), as well as the packaged pastries : )"
Lavissh Inn & Suites
"Great budget stay, high walk-score, quieter than name brand hotels in Bellingham with better insulation between rooms, king bedroom side is quiet looking off to trees quiet rural town setting, double rooms face freeway but plenty of trees in view and light, rural setting so freeway is calm. Windows provide noise buffer. Good to see rooms before to choose best one, second floor, third floor less desirable hallways. Great coffee shop out the front lobby. Staff was excellent compared to other hotel stays in Bellingham where they would slam doors all morning room change overs, were rude, and did not want to change beds. I recommend Lavissh Inn for budget stay, convenient, clean, light, airy, good service, and quiet space."
Baymont by Wyndham Bellingham
"Easy check-in. Front desk lady was prompt and helpful."
Bellingham Lodge
"It’s a budget Inn, so it’s not extravagant. The carpets in the room desperately need replacing or at the very least, steaming. Our feet were black whenever we walked in the room without shoes on. The shower was a bit tough to turn on, you have to manhandle the faucet. The staff is friendly, but you cannot make your own waffle during breakfast. You must inform the front desk person to make you a waffle. The breakfast options are: waffle, yogurt cup, instant oatmeal or toast. That is all. Be prepared to go out to eat every morning. Some of the housekeepers make the beds, and some do not. Depends on who is on shift I suppose. Washer costs $3.50 in quarters, and dryer is $2, but you will need to either hang dry everything afterwards or dry it twice, because regardless of the load size, or settings, it will not dry in 1 cycle. Overall, it was fine for what we could afford."
Holiday Inn & Suites Bellingham by IHG
"Perfect stay for the whole family! We will surely be back 😊"
Motel 6 Bellingham, WA
"Rooms are clean and fairly well maintained. General wear and tear does exist. Staff is very helpful and will come right away to solve any issues. Laundry on site is cheap and clean, very nice amenity."
Oxford Suites Bellingham
"Property was large and very clean and gave us the option to freshen up the room as many days as we wanted. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered snack times and cocktail times in the evening. Breakfast was good. They cooked fresh scrambled eggs and potatoes as well as biscuits and gravy among other things. Parking was plenty and free. We’d definitely stay here again."
Best Western Plus Bellingham
"Clean and friendly staff. Love the free parking and breakfast. Very comfortable and quiet. Large grocery store a small short drive away."
