Satisfy your curiosity by visiting the world's only Corn Palace, a quirky landmark adorned with murals made entirely of corn and grains. Dive into prehistoric history at the Indian Village, then cool off at Mitchell Aquatic Center's water slides and lazy river.
We went to I think the only thing worthwhile seeing there: The Corn Palace. I last saw it 40 years ago. It hadn't really changed all that much. We chose to stay in Mitchell because it was roughly halfway to our destination, the Black Hills.

Mitchell is a very nice little city with many interesting things to see and do. The business climate is vibrant. You won't find friendlier people anywhere.

The city was nicer than we expected. With more amenities than you would think for such a small town. We were disappointed because we couldn't see the Corn Palace due to some stupid marathon race.

The area had easy access to freeway, and some shopping and food options. Traffic was not bad, though they are building in the area.

It amazes me that for its size, only slightly bigger than my town, Mitchell seems to have many more corporate retailers.

Mitchell is a mid-size town with a lot of Midwest fun to offer, and a Cabela's store!

I wish it wasn't cold and rainy. I would have liked to explore around the Corn Palace.
