6/10 Good

Great spot on Gozo but less than grand. I'm sure it was in its day but the hotel is now rather dated. Service was good though.

Absolutely would stay here again. Incredible views

My 7th floor room was very spacious, All the comforts you could ask for. The bedding was so soft and comfortable. Different pillow types for all sleepers. The view of the marina from the balcony was perfect to watch the activity. Great for a relaxed stay and a walk down to catch all ferries and boats for excursions. Pool was perfect and quiet spot to relax overlooking the marina. Many great restaurants at the marina to choose from. If you decide to stay you won’t regret it.

Lovely hotel, large comfortable rooms, great facilities with the indoor pool, outdoor pool, spa and choice of restaurants. The hotel is old and a little tired in places, but the main areas were clean and welcoming. Location is perfect, right by the harbour.

10/10 Exceptional

Lovely short break at the Grand. Elegant building with character. Check in quick and receptionist friendly, appreciated the fresh orange after the walk from the harbour. Booked superior seaview with balcony- stayed on the 8th floor, room very comfortable and nicely decorated, air conditioning efficient & room serviced daily with fresh water. Fridge in room small but handy for keeping drinks cool. Sunrise views of the harbour & pool area. Pool cold but refreshing ,stunning infinity view, plenty of sunbeds with towels provided at reception. Breakfast variety of options, cooked breakfast very nice. Lots of good restaurants/bars within 10 minute walk. Bus stop close by for trips in victoria or elsewhere on the island. Had a few nice walks along the coast from the harbour. Highly recommend for a short break, to be honest wish we'd been able to stay for longer.

The water pressure for shower and toilet should be improved, was poor.

10/10 Exceptional

Very hospitable staff - helpful and friendly. The hotel is unique with a wonderful view of the harbour. The room was large with beautiful furniture. The indoor swimming pool was great as the outdoor pool was not open for the summer season at the time of our visit.
Frances, 8-night trip

8/10 Very good

We stayed in the older part of the hotel, which does need some renovation. We experienced the staff to be short with guests and not very friendly, this definitely needs coaching. We never received water in our room, when I went to reception to get water I was told housekeepers would bring it, and it never happened.

The Grand Harbour Hotel is in a wonderful location overlooking the harbour with Comino and Malta in the near distance. There is an old fashioned charm here with the excellent service from staff. We felt valued guests. We never tired of the view from the balcony in the day or evening. The rooms are a great size, with very comfortable beds. We will definitely be returning soon.
Richard, 3-night trip

2/10 Poor

Carbon Monoxide found in hotel

I stayed at the Grand Gozo Hotel in Malta from May 1–6, 2025, and encountered a severe health and safety hazard. My friend and I detected dangerously high carbon monoxide (CO) levels—over 150 ppm—in multiple rooms (457 and 464), for we brought our own CO detector. These levels are well above internationally recognized safety limits and posed a serious risk to our health. Despite reporting this immediately, hotel management failed to take meaningful action. We were moved to another room without a proper inspection or explanation, and our concerns were dismissed. Management also refused a refund for the unsafe room and provided no updates or resolution.

Great stay!!

Great!! Maybe would be good to have had 4 bottles of water instead of two

Lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Gozo

Lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Gozo. Hotel is a little bit dated and in need of a bit of modernisation here and there, but generally speaking happy with our stay for the price. Very well located with good transport links and lots of great restaurants a couple of mins walk away. Could do with a few more veggie options at breakfast e.g. Veggie sausages
Mike, 5-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Our room was spacious with views over the harbour. Room service was brilliant and coffee/ tea was replenished daily. The hotel has 3 restaurants, but we only tried one which offered a BBQ night with rooftop views. We highly recommend this as the food was cooked to order and was delicious!😋 All staff were polite and helpful and we throughly enjoyed our stay.
Tracey, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

Convenient location and stunning views. Hotel decor is a little tired and dated but very comfortable and clean. Most staff were friendly and helpful although the bar/waiting team were a bit sullen. As usual for off season there was noise from building work on the hotel but it didn’t bother us too much. However if rumoured plans to demolish part of the hotel and build apartments go ahead it will become a “no go “ area for at least a couple of years. I hope they don’t do that as it is a pleasant place to stay as it is.

Memorable birthday with my partner

It was an amazing experience celebrating my birthday, I was the first time in this hotel (Grand Hotel, Mgarr Gozo)for sure is not the last time that I visit this hotel and I recommend with no doubt. The two places that are amazing is the level 9 restaurant that is was located on the roof with a nice view of the Gozo Mgarr Harbour and the second that I was impressed is the outdoor pool that was very big and relaxing area with nice view of the harbour
Lewis, 4-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Excellent location next to the port. All staff were fantastic and friendly, the receptionist who checked us in was wonderful. Free parking but a bit hair raising getting up the slope. Breakfast was plentiful and I enjoyed the variety. The roof top bar was superb and the cocktails were amazing!! The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The hotel is a bit dated in places but renovations were on going. Both pools were fab as well. I would stay here again.
