I’ve always thought The Element was a nice hotel, but my most recent stay was just okay. I wish I had been informed that the hotel was under construction—I didn’t enjoy the smell of paint everywhere, workers in the hallways every morning, and wet paint on room doors that we had to be careful not to touch.
The rooms really need a major update. From wet stains on the ceilings to peeling paint in the showers, permanent stains throughout the room (especially on the couch), and even broken phones, it felt worn down. While the hallways are being updated, the focus should really be on the guest rooms where people spend most of their time.
I stayed in two different rooms. The first was cleaned, but the bathroom had a wet ceiling stain. The second was only about a 7/10 for cleanliness—I felt housekeeping could have done a better job.
On the positive side, the room layouts were comfortable, customer service was nice, and breakfast was fresh and enjoyable.
