This brand new hotel on the upper Main St. of Bar Harbor is clean as a whistle, comfortable, and minimalist in decor. Vintage photo prints line the halls, as a way of personalizing those spaces. The best part is the staff - warm, friendly, & wanting to keep you happy. Housekeeping can happen daily if you put out the door sign. Summer parking scarcity in Bar Harbor is solved by the Pathmaker’s attached garage underneath the building. Breakfasts are included in the fairly reasonable room rate. The hotel is diagonally across the street from a Hannaford’s supermarket - perfect for stocking up on lunch or hiking snacks. And it’s a 10-minute walk to the center of town, the green, shore path, and the beginning of the low tide path to Bar Island.
My feeling is this is not a hotel to linger in; there’s no front porch, balconies, or lobby seating (exception of one easy chair). And my only caveat: If you have sensitivity to road noise, request a room on the back.
