This was a beautiful property. It appeared to be brand new. The front desk staff were pleasant and very helpful. The room was spotless. I would highly recommend this property. It was accessible to the freeway as well

During check in, it was very busy and there was only one person working the front desk. Even though there were only 2 people in front of me, it took over 20 minutes to check in. Breakfast - there is a buffet on the weekends for $17/pp and it is the quality of breakfasts at other hotels that are free. However, I was happy to learn that there were also cooked to order breakfast dishes available. Those were quite good. T

This property has only been open a few months. It id brand new. They are still working on a few things - the water pressure in my shower was low and was scheduled to be adjusted the day I left. The staff was excellent. I didn’t try the onsite restaurant, but it is nice that there is one available.

The room was clean and comfortable. We had an issue with our reservation as we had 4 adults in our party and reserved a 2 queen bed room but upon check in was given a king room and the front desk clerk said they had their system down yesterday which messed up our reservation. No apology was given and no resolution to the problem either was offered. She basically said that was it and we all had to just take the room as no other rooms were available. This was a graduation week so all the other hotel rooms were fully booked. She finally agreed to give me a little Discount after I pressed that this was not acceptable. I practically had to beg and felt like it was my fault that this happened.

Wow! I always stay in pet friendly hotels with my service dog even though it’s not a requirement for him. I do this for many reasons that make ME more comfortable not the least of which being many such places have some dog amenities that are a nice treat for him. This hotel did not disappoint in that department. Cute dog treats, and water dish at check in, convenient places to take him out to potty, a list of v local pet stores and other common animal travel needs, an adorable door knob hanger letting staff know he’s there and emergency dog supplies available if needed (didn’t need any but it was good to know). In addition to all of this the room was very nice. I struggle to sleep in hotels usually but this one was quiet and comfortable. The whole family had a wonderful night sleep and Thor the super hero canine got an extra treat at check out as well.

My daughter has attended UC Merced for 3 years, so I've been up and back a lot in the last 3 years; have stayed at a lot of hotels. Hilton Garden Inn fills a niche that has been missing. The hotel is right on the exit for university parkway, so there is no need to travel through downtown if it's unnecessary for your trip. It's a quick easy to the university. This is also the fastest way to the university, even if driving from the north. This was my first time taking an electric car up, which was a leap of faith that the chargers would work. They did and it was really nice to see that there were 10 chargers, all new (as they were put in with the hotel) and I had no problems using them. The hotel is on the south side of Merced in area that was, a few years ago, just open farmland. They have built up the exit with 2 gas stations, a Starbucks, Chipotle, and a few other fast foods options as well as a Tractor Supply, all within a few minute walk of the hotel. The area is clean and outside of the downtown homeless population. I will use this hotel again, especially as it is directly on my path to the school, is clean, new, feels safe, and had a great staff.

Very happy with our experience at this property. Staff was exceptional and demonstrated unusual commitment to customer care and satisfaction at a level I have not encountered anywhere else. I travel very regularly and have stayed in many hotels around the world, including true 5 star properties, and none have demonstrated the guest satisfaction that I found here. Just after check in I received a text asking if everything was ok in our room from the front desk person who checked me in. The next morning I received another text asking how our first night went and if we needed anything to make our stay more comfortable. What a great personal touch that made me feel like they really care about my experience. The rooms are sized well and designed well with plenty of storage space that allows for keeping your things organized. The closet area operates as a walk in closet right inside the door area so our things can be stored out of sight. There are cubbies and shelves in the bathroom to organize toiletries. The property is very clean and well maintained. The gym is modern, clean and functional. I will definitely return to this hotel when I'm in the area.
