Wonderful beautiful place! It was cloudy, so I did not get a Mountain View, but the onsen experience was wonderful and much needed! The hike up the hotel was not great, but that’s the only con. Overall, we had a great time and experience.
Ruby, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The indoor spa was a great experience and really enjoyed it. The restaurant closes at 8pm and so do local restaurants therefore one has to travel a little further out to find food

No other word yo describe this better than the best hotel. Accomodation, facilities, onsen bath on room. Staff is exceptional perfect, polite, helpful. The breakfast is ok, but if you like Japanese food more then it is perfect. Fully recommend this hotel. Will stay again if come back to Hakone.

I recently stayed at Hotel Okada, and I couldn't have been more impressed with both the hotel and its incredible landscaping. From the moment I arrived, the ambiance was welcoming, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. The highlight of my experience was the hotel's Japanese Garden. The landscaping was absolutely breathtaking, with vibrant flowers, manicured lawns, and well-placed pathways that created a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day, offering both tranquility and beauty.
Jeffrey, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Access to the hotel is inconvenient.
Yauso, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The rooms are a little old but really big. For an in room onsen, it’s value for money and there’s no complaints. The toiletries were great. It’s hard to get to the hotel after dark so you’d need a taxi for that. Thankfully taxi prices are affordable from hakone Yumoto station.
Xiu Fang, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

One of the best experiences I’ve had staying at a hotel. Our family stayed at the Japanese style ryokan that dressed us in traditional clothing. We utilized the Japanese onsen baths. It was an amazing experience for my family. Pro tip - if you choose to stay, I strongly urge you to take a taxi from Hakone Yumoto station if you miss the hotel shuttle. The hotel shuttle and local bus is very limited and you can fall behind a whole hour just waiting for the public bus.
Sheldon, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

A traditional hotel with an abundance of old-world charm. We were so impressed by how well-maintained and clean this hotel was, as well as the warm friendly greetings we regularly received from staff who were positioned throughout the front lobby. Service and hospitality were top class. Buffet breakfast and dinner were great – a wide variety of choices were available. Family members with dietary requirements were generally able to find something that suited them and food was well-labelled. Visited Hakone for the woodwork (Yosegi Zaiku) rather than the hot springs so unfortunately cannot comment on the onsens. The walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station to the hotel can easily be done in around 20-30 minutes depending on how quickly you go. It is a very pleasant walk especially along the Sukumo River. However, if you are carrying a lot of luggage, a taxi would be the better option. Overall, this was a beautiful, well-run establishment and we really enjoyed our stay here.
