We booked our accommodation 4 months before arrival date through a third party.
The property’s policy is free cancellation is up to 14 days before arrival.
Unfortunately a family member and one of our travelling group became gravely ill and passed away so we were unable to drive to the property as originally planned.
We rang the property 5 days before to ask if they could offer some compensation or date transfer due to compassionate circumstances.
They stated their cancellation policy and asked if we need to cancel to let them know ASAP so they could rent the cabin to others
They were credited on the booking date.
If they had have offered us a % refund if they can rebook the cabin, we would’ve cancelled at that time.
They did not offer that service, which we felt lacked compassion.
