I had to complete an online registration form a few days before arrival. On this registration form I had to specify the approximate arrival time. Having specified an arrival time that was later than the time that the front desk would be manned, I would have expected a communication from the hotel regarding after hours check-in. The information regarding the after hours check in was not sent to me until a couple of hours before arrival, by which time I was on board a flight, with my phone in flight mode, so did not receive the necessary information until I had arrived at the hotel, had to wait on the street while trying to communicate with an after hours number, for them to relay the information regarding access to a lock box, then gain access to the hotel and room, then remember to switch my phone out of flight mode. I would expect that if you want guests to complete online registration, communication regarding after hours check in, would be sent when that registration is completed.
