Hydra Beach Resort
6/10 Okay
"We had the all inclusive package. The food was repetitive and similar to a cafeteria. Nothing was really outstanding food and drink wise. We left the hotel a few times to eat at local restaurants. The resort was under renovations and there was only one restaurant with strange hours. The disco and beach restaurants were not available and there was no mini club for the kids. There was one store to buy souvenirs but again with the strange hours- closed from 2 until 7pm I believe. No evening events, dances or activities. The first night our AC was broken but they gave us a fan until the next day when it was fixed by an external company.
On the plus side, the resort has impeccable landscaping with beautiful flowers. The place was clean and located in a very peaceful quiet area with lots of nature. Lovely to drive in the Peloponnese from Athens. Perfect location to have day trips to Hydra, Spetses and Poros."
"From before I arrived to after I left, the service was excellent. Rooms are modern and very clean, as is the entire property. Breakfasts were delicious and the dining room view made them especially enjoyable.
I upgraded to a sea view room, which I highly recommend, and slept with a refreshing sea breeze in my room each night.
The staff however, made all the difference. I would most certainly return and will recommend Naus to others (and have already since returning home). Thank you for an amazing stay."
"The place was clean, with a friendly staff and the breakfast was the best we had on the peninsula. The complaint we have about the place is in the description of the location. This place is 40 min from Monemvasia and the name suggests different. There’s a nice pool, access to the beach and spa treatments are available. If you can transport this place at a different location, it’d be awesome."
"AMAZING!!! We loved it here! I cannot fully explain just how wonderful this hotel is. We arrived just at the start of the season.
Check- in was seamless, with a welcoming drink.
Staff then showed us around the hotel, pointing out various areas of interest. Stavros was waiting with the luggage when we arrived at the room.
Room- we stayed in a deluxe veranda room initially. Amenities were excellent, flip flops for the beach, daily restock of water. Every room has chairs and a table on the veranda/balcony and you get sun at some point in the day.
We were upgraded to a suite two days after arrival (Expedia benefits) which was amazing. Separate bedroom and living room, two bathrooms. I would definitely advise booking this.
Restaurant- the staff were the most amazing thing about this hotel!!! Always smiling, very attentive and friendly. I didn’t take their names but honestly they are all an asset to the hotel.
Beach- there are many lounge chairs set up on the pebbled beach with food and drinks service via the pool bar. The sea is clean with lovely azure waters and it’s so relaxing and quiet.
Location- the hotel is in a quiet part of Kalamata but about a 10 minute walk along the coast to the tavernas/bars.
Transport- Bus No. 1 is literally outside the hotel gate and takes you along the coast to where all the tavernas are then into the city and into the old town (journey time of about 20-30 minutes) and you buy the €1.50 ticket from the bus driver (with cash or card)."
"Very comfortable and welcoming staff.
It is tucked into a square with restaurants and stores. The entrance was hard to spot until you knew where to look, A single door between stores. The included a great breakfast and welcome orange liqueur."
