Centrale Montemartini is the second exhibition centre of Rome's Capitoline Museums, an ancient sculpture museum built in a former power plant, featuring Roman and Greek statues, busts and friezes. Through the innovative use of industrial archaeology to highlight pieces, the museum has accentuated wonder in the area and fascinated the public since 1997.

The museum’s experimentation with exhibition and renovation has continued in the present day, blending their applications into a working harmony. After the expansion of exhibits into previously closed warehouses, Centrale Montemartini became a permanent location in 2001 and extended further in 2016 with a new hall displaying coaches from the train of Pope Pius IX.
