    Kalverpassage is a grand, 3-floor mall in Kalverstraat, one of the most upscale shopping streets of Amsterdam. The Sting, Costes, and The North Face each have a store here, and so does the famous Dutch department store Hema.

    Food-wise, Calf & Bloom is a fine lunchroom based on the 2nd floor of Kalverpassage. Another popular spot is Blue Amsterdam, a glass-fronted restaurant at the top of the mall. Here, you can enjoy sandwiches, burgers and salads with panoramic views of central Amsterdam.

There’s a free bus service that travels between the mall and several locations in Buitenveldert and Zuidas.

    Gelderlandplein also has 9 restaurants and bars, so you can easily spend the entire day indoors during rainy days. This mall is in Amsterdam-Zuid, in the southern part of Amsterdam. It’s surrounded by many natural spaces, including Het Amsterdamse Bos, Gijsbrecht Aemstelpark, and Amstelpark.

    De Bijenkorf (The Beehive) is one of the longest-established and most iconic department stores in the Netherlands. Its flagship store in Amsterdam dates back to 1870, occupying a 21,000-square-metre complex on Dam Square.

    Magna Plaza is just a short walk from the De Bijenkorf department store on Dam Square. This shopping mall occupies a 19th-century building that was initially used as Amsterdam’s main post office. This neo-Gothic structure, which has high ceilings and imposing arches, was transformed into a modern shopping mall in 1992.

    You can find branches of Mango, Swarovski, America Today, and Lacoste, as well as stores selling Dutch specialities like cheese, tulip bulbs, and wooden clogs. A highlight for hungry shoppers is The Food Department, located on the 2nd floor of Magna Plaza. The 1,100-square-metre food hall offers a wide range of dishes, including sushi, dim sum, tacos, and chicken wings.

    De Beurspassage is a shopping alley connecting the Damrak and Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam. It was named after the Beurs van Berlage, a former commodity market that's now a national monument. This shopping district is characterised by its painted ceilings and mosaic floors. This project, called Amsterdamse Oersoep, is the city’s largest mosaic artwork.

    Apart from its aesthetics, De Beurspassage has several chain stores and hole-in-the-wall stalls serving coffee and snacks. You’ll find clothing stores like Primark and the Amsterdam Cheese Company at the end of this narrow shopping street. Van der Linden is a superb pitstop for a pastry or hot drink when exploring Amsterdam.
