We were looking for a unique place to start our holiday and Ca’Palazzo Malvasia really delivered. A former hunting lodge 15 mins outside of Bologna, set in rolling hills and accessed through miles of gravel driveways interspersed with iron gates, the Palazzo is full of sloping corridors, staggered steps, grand rooms and antique furniture, with bookcases bulging with texts from the 1800s. The family room (2 double beds) was fully in keeping with the feel of the place save for a modern bathroom and excellent aircon. We never met any staff as the listing wants to keep out of your way, but they were clearly there in the background, keeping everything running smoothly.
Palazzo guests can use a swimming pool and 9-person jacuzzi (not 9 jacuzzis as the listing suggests!) that is shared with guests from a B&B on the estate.
