My first night, the air conditioner was left on all day and wouldn't turn off. I had to have the desk send a repairman up at 9 pm because it was freezing in the room. He couldn't fix it, all he could do was shut the whole unit down, so I couldn't use it for the rest of my stay. The next morning, the flush handle on the toilet fell off. When I went down to tell them, I asked for a late checkout (1:00) for the next day. I figured they'd say yes, because that's very common and I figured they'd want to make it up to me. Nope. The desk clerk very brusquely told me, "You'll have to come down in the morning and ask then." Very dismissive. Ok, fine.
The next morning, I hang a towel on the towel hook by the shower, and the whole hook just falls off the door to the floor. At this point, it's almost laughable. So I talk to another person from the front desk and tell him the third thing that's broken in 2 days, and ask for the 1:00 checkout. He says okay, but a bit of an attitude about it. Doesn't offer any apologies at all for the problems with the room, nothing. Fine. Not the end of the world, but come on, this is one of the most expensive hotels in Eugene. I won't be staying here again. The place is old and obviously not kept up. The mirrors in the elevators are scratched up and graffitied. Seriously! If you can't clean them, replace them! They look dingy and awful. You're charging premium prices and this is what you've got? Really pathetic for the price.
