I am not sure what is happening to this hotel, but the service has been poor for the last couple of months. I have been staying at this hotel for years, using it to prepare for and convalesce after international flights. I have stayed here twice in the past month due to business reasons. During the first stay, I was placed in the wing, instead of the main building of the hotel without any explanation. The person who checked me in (a red headed woman) was not the friendliest during check in. The hotel was pretty much deserted at that time. The room was a nice long stroll away from the front desk and restaurant. When I inquired about the reason why I was placed in the wing during checkout, I was told that the elevator was out of service. I was also told that I had the option of using the service elevator. I was not offered the service elevator as a choice during check in.
During my second stay, I was again placed in the wing, service elevator again was not offered as a choice, and the check in was again crappy with the same red head. The elevator maybe down for months because they need a part that is sitting on a shelf somewhere in China. During my most recent stay in the area, I chose the Washington Dulles Marriott Suites. Not only was the stay phenomenal, but it was cheaper than the Reston Sheraton. My advice, stay there instead, you won’t regret it!!
