We stayed at MCM Eleganté Hotel & Suites Lubbock during a concert weekend and had one of the most frustrating hotel check-in experiences we’ve ever had.
We got in line at 2:45 PM to be ready for the 4:00 PM check-in, only to be sent to the back of the line after 45 minutes because our room type wasn’t available. After waiting again, we reached the desk around 5:10 PM and were told our room still wasn’t ready.
With no other options provided, we were forced to change in public restrooms and finish getting ready in our car just to make it to the concert we had driven 12 hours to attend. Our room wasn’t ready until 5:52 PM (the concert had already started). They then had the audacity to go knocking on doors at 9am the next morning asking people when they were going to be out of their rooms. (Check out time is 12)
This wasn’t just a delay—it was a breakdown in the check-in process. No organization, no urgency, no care for their guests, and no accommodations offered to guests who were clearly affected. It significantly impacted our experience.
After attempting to contact them after this experience and allowing them the opportunity to make things right, their response was that they were one of the only hotels in the area to waive a two night minimum for the event. Which isn’t even true because when I booked this hotel 5 months ago, there were tons of available hotels for a single night stay.
