Basil Fawlty Comes to Mind
This hotel has some very good features which is most probably lacking in a lot of other hotels in this area. However during my visit I was periodically exposed to their contracted labourers using both an impact drill and an impact concrete breaker directly above my room and in the corridor. This experience went on without a resolution for over 5 days. With noise being quite severe and causing an absolute nuisance. Not once was I informed of what structural works was going on, which is a complete shamble and is a problem of the management team. I was continuously promised that it wouldn’t happen again each and every day. Until I physically visited the contractors to see exactly what they were doing. This was not going to be resolved anytime soon. So I vented my disgust and again they made promises that they could not keep. Not once did the management team apologise or visit me. I had to force the manager to come out of his office and apologise to me. Which was too late. I decide that due to the noise that I wish to leave the hotel and cancel the remainder of my booking. I would expect a full refund and compensation for the stress that this has caused. This is my worst stay I have ever had in any hotel in all the countries I have ever visited In relation to a complete breakdown in communication. This hotel is having some major construction works and this must be communicated to the customers. I would advise Hotels.com inform all customers of this issue before their arrival.
