10/10 Exceptional

Excellent hotel from a room and dining standpoint. We loved the buffet breakfast and dinners. The room was extremely spacious…stayed in a western room with 2 beds and 3 tatami mats. The onset was lovely as well. Only downside was the distance from main attractions was a 30 min bus ride.

The onsen was really nice and the size of the room was great. There is limited free parking on site so make sure to check in as soon as possible. It was a perfect place to stay

Onsen was awesome! Hotel provided bathrobes and slippers (along with instructions), which could also be worn to breakfast the next day. Free cookies in the lobby

Check in was easy and friendly but at checkout I was asked to pay extra because I didn’t have all the room keys with me

8/10 Very good

The place is a bit worn out but we appreciate the allergen information displayed on each of their dishes in the breakfast buffet, which is a rare find in Japan. The food is also delicious. I would love to visit there for another meal.

8/10 Very good

We were celebrating my mothers birthday but the hotel was disappointing in terms of service in comparison to what other hotels would do
2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Restaurant was expensive but we found great local restaurants within walking distance. Nice and close location to cable cars and pirate ship.

8/10 Very good

Public space like Libby and restaurant are newly renovated, but room is rather dated. Some light control don’t work anymore.
Simon, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

This location was beautiful. We had a room facing the mountain with a large window and patio. Staff were very nice and English was not a problem. Tattoos need to be covered for the hot spring. There are no sidewalks directly to the hotel but there are many food options within walking distance. Parking was available. There is 1 laundry machine so if you need it you will likely need to wait.

8/10 Very good

Great hospitality. Room a bit old.

4/10 Fair

We stayed here for 4 nights, we were put in a smoking room with 4 beds, my daughter has a respiratory problem, but was told that is all they have as an option. The hotel is in bad need of refurbishment, the foyer and restaurant area which fronts the street has been refurbished, but all the room levels and the rear accomodation building looks like it hasn’t been touched since the 1960s,the floor we stayed on smelled like second hand smoke and

Rooms are clean but outdated...
Jannah, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The suit for 3 persons was huge. Extra toilet and bathroom was an unexpected luxury. The onsen facilities were very good. We will consider visiting again when we visit Hakone again

10/10 Exceptional

Nice family stay and onsen experience

The onsens were a highlight, beautiful and spacious with indoor and outdoor baths. We were a family of 4 (kids 5&7) and stayed in the traditional family suite with two large single beds and a separate tatami room. There is a new section with lounge/reception and restaurant and the old building has the onsens. It is not difficult getting between them via car park or indoor corridor. Staff was good/Enhlish speaking mostly and very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and dinner included was was really nice to be able to relax and eat at the hotel. Lots of options at the buffet for our picky(ish) young kids. We enjoyed the food, the onsens and the stay! The room was a bit dated as other reviewers have noted but it added to the Japanese charm, it was fine! Pillows could be improved. Overall, very good for reasonable price and would stay again or recommend.
