Stayed 20-27 Jul. Positives - good location, 10 min walk to seafront, 25 to old town. Very comfortable beds and pillows and clean. Has underground parking. Breakfast options tasty and plenty, other food also good. Able to take advantage of sister hotels beach (take a taxi - don’t walk). Also all the staff downstairs in restaurant and cleaning team very happy and helpful.
Downsides - dreadful cocktails and the service upstairs by the pool actually terrible, only one good waiter (tall, dark, name began with an S) For a 5* hotel really lacking. Plates not cleared for hours eg we ate at 1400, plates and cups still not cleared when we left at 1700, not checking if people want drinks etc, sat on phones, ignoring customers when they went over to bar seating area and us having to go to the bar to be like can we be served please. The menus were missing multiple pages, and staff openly admitted to not making cocktails properly when challenged (eg Bloody Mary upstairs - only put vodka, tomato juice and salt - despite the cocktail menu listing actual ingredients, Mojitos served (this was downstairs bar) without any ice. Would expect much better from what is supposed to be a 5* hotel. Also when we tried to originally pay they overcharged us on parking, we pushed back and stated we were told it was the cost per day on checkin and staff vigorously argued back we were wrong. On actual check out with a different member of staff the price was as we expected.
