The expected code for access did not come. I went to property address which was a passageway from street to a door. Pushed door and went into small open area. Went into narrow stairway to left of open area wondering if I was going into somebody’s home. Door at small landing had painted on inside edge of doorway 1A my room number but stuck on door was a note reading 2. Located resident of a flat 2 levels up and he tol me he thought was entry to two flats. I phoned contact number for owner and given access number which failed to open door. Later received text with similar but different number. Number seemed to be correct but door mechanism failed to release door. Stairway condition most unimpressive. Hard to read key box number in poor light. After wasting a lot of time I left to seek other accommodation. In subsequent phone conversation with relative of owner I said I had left and didn’t intend to rent flat (as unable to access). I advised Hotels to cancel booking. Flat owner attempted to charge my credit card for the two days I had booked. Card company advised me of debit being lodged and I instructed no payment to be paid.
