I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mix of good and not-so-good experiences. On the positive side, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made check-in and our overall stay more pleasant. The room had a cozy touch with a fireplace, which was a nice feature and added a bit of charm.
However, there were a few things that left me questioning the value for money. First, the hotel charges a $31 nightly resort fee, which seems a bit excessive given the lack of actual resort amenities. When I asked what the fee covered, I was told it was for coffee and tea in the room, gym access, and Wi-Fi—standard amenities you'd expect at any hotel. They also mentioned a record player and two-hour bike use, neither of which I found particularly appealing or worth the extra charge.
Additionally, the first room we were assigned was quite dated and had a view of the train tracks, which wasn't ideal. Thankfully, they moved us to a waterside room, which was a definite improvement. Still, the overall hotel feels very outdated, and I would describe the experience as very average.
In conclusion, while the staff and the fireplace were nice touches, the resort fee and dated facilities made this stay less than memorable. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're really into the retro feel and don't mind paying extra for basic amenities.
