Nice room with a fantastic view of the harbour from the huge windows and balcony. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was very good (although the haggis in the breakfast was rather sloppy). Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location and lovely views Staff were very friendly and helpful. Electric car charger excellent and very welcome after a long journey Evening meal menu rather limited unless you like burgers or pizzas but breakfasts very good Our bedroom needed better lighting for reading and a make/up/shaving mirror otherwise very nice

Had an easy, friendly check in, Views from reception were amazing. Had booked a balcony sea view room which was located down a flight of stairs. Room was large with seating and table. Bathroom a bit dated and noisy plumbing but shower over the bath was good. Nice big concrete balcony with lovely view over Portpatrick. Breakfast was delicious and all staff were nice and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

The area is absolutely stunning with amazing views. The hotel needs a little TLC is a little antiquated needs to be brought into the 21st century only silly things like sockets that take phone cables etc, especially when you’re on business and need chargers etc: however what a lovely place to stay and I would cope lol. Staff were amazing all of them from the gent on reception who seemed to be everywhere to the lovely lady in the Bar and restaurant again she was a very busy lady with a joyful and friendly attitude. All in all a great place and most importantly I enjoyed my time there. Will most definitely visit again even if I have to drive out of my way.

A very tired and musty smelling room 19 Horrible lights and a minuscule en suite. Shower door missing replaced by a shower curtain and rusty shelving Sink too large to make sitting on the toilet practically impossible. Wall paper peeling and ceiling stained with previous water damage. Needs a total revamp Staff excellent and breakfast very good with lovely views over the sea and Portpatrick from restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay and would love to go back some time. The views were beautiful and it’s a tranquil setting. The food was good, the hotel team were excellent and it’s conveniently located close to the harbour (although note, if you have mobility issues, there are steps). Pets are £10/ night extra which is fairly typical. The only thing that could be improved were very cheap somewhat flimsy plastic toilet seats, which felt a bit like unnecessary cost-cutting.

Lovely location with great views over Portpatrick. It was such a wet day and we were delighted when we were able to have our room a little bit earlier than the check in time of 3pm, even more so, when our room was upgraded to a balcony room. As soon as you enter the hotel you are stunned by the terrific view over Portpatrick at the reception and then again from our lovely, bright spacious and very clean bedroom. Loved having the bath and powerful shower. We enjoyed a drink in the comfortable lounge before going for a walk. We enjoyed our dinner, pate, chicken and mushroom pie and fish and chips. The breakfast next morning was even better with the added addition of fresh fruit salad to the selection of cereals etc. My husband had the Fernhill Grill and I had the Eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked to perfection! Staff all very pleasant. Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you.

Room was very good, very clean and bathroom was huge. The breakfast was of a good standard and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A guest Wi-Fi is provided without have to supply lots of personal details prior to being allowed to use it.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights in the junior suite room in the old part of the hotel The room was lovely and large with some original features. Very large seperate bathroom with “antique” fixtures and fittings Very large double bed which was very comfortable Stunning views across Portpatrick and across the Irish sea. Great staff, friendly and helpful Veggie breakfast was hot and freshly cooked (but could have been bigger) Evening meal had several veggie options (pizza, squash pie, curry, burger) but these could have been better Would be happy to stay here again but I'd also hope by then the hotel has taken a few steps forward refresh the rooms. Paintwork is looking tired; fix what needs fixing; bathroom window didn't close properly and was sealed by tape add a few small touches – eg shower cap; replace the rubber plug in the bathroom sink with something more fitting extend the veggie menu – pasta, salads, risotto
