What should have been a comfortable hotel stay turned into a frustrating experience. The section of the Continental Hotel Abuja where I was placed was effectively a construction site. Major renovation work was ongoing throughout the area, with debris, unfinished spaces, and constant disruption. Despite this, rooms were still being rented to guests.
To make matters worse, my room was not properly cleaned, which only added to the feeling that guest comfort was not a priority. Every morning, construction noise started at exactly 7:45 AM, abruptly ending any chance of rest or relaxation.
If a hotel is undergoing renovations on this scale, affected rooms should be taken out of service until the work is complete. At the very least, guests deserve to be clearly informed before booking. This was far below the standard I expected and certainly not worth the price paid. I would not return.
