Read the reviews of many places in the area, this one had good ones. Did not live up to the reviews.
The Good: the room had a couch in one area, bed in the other. That was nice to be able to relax without sitting on the bed. The room was clean.
The bad: the staff took forever just to check us in, then gave us rooms right next to the elevator even though we were some of the first to check in. They later said we requested rooms near each other, I didn’t care, and never asked them that, but they said they were looking for rooms near each other and the two by the elevator were the ONLY ones available; they didn’t say, “these rooms are by the elevator is that ok?” I would have expressly said NO. Instead they handed us key cards and I had to ask where to go. People were in the hall until after 11:00 pm and loud!! We ran the AC’s as long as we could to drown out the noise. But you cannot sleep with them running because it sounds like you’re in a cargo airplane, it’s so loud. Then the second night, dogs in the hall after 9:00 pm, barking! On checking out, we waited while they hunted down a bar of soap for a guest. Then dismissed me.
We had high hopes. I don’t travel often, so this was supposed to be special. Getting in and out of the hotel parking lot was not always easy. And although they advertise “walking distance” to some of the attractions, there is no way to walk to them; You have to drive even though it’s 2-3 minutes, if that.
There are other hotels in the area, go there!
