This was a basic stay in a motel. It was recently updated and was clean. The staff recommended a restaurant across the street and it was good food. Actually, the steak was so huge the plate could not hold it. The bed was comfortable.

DON’T DO IT! DISGUSTING!!!

THIS WAS AWFUL!! Hotels.com should be ASHAMED that they have this hotel as an option!!! We were driving back from Colorado and just needed a place to stay for the night. Hays Kansas was completely booked because of an event, so we hurried up and booked this. I should have turned around when I saw the run down lobby, but we were tired. Walking around the outside of the building to our room, the place is falling apart and looked like our car might get stolen! The rooms were DISGUSTING!!! Look at the pictures! We saw a stain on the dust ruffle and pulled the sheets back!! OMG! They are stained and gross! The floors in the bathroom were covered in hair and bugs, the sink was covered in rust and my kids room had a handwritten note taped to the door to double lock your door!! We turned around and left. The front desk person couldn’t refund my money because I booked through Hotels.Com. We drove another exhausting hour to Salina (which I would recommend to avoid Russell!) to a MUCH better place. I contacted Hotels.Com for a refund and the hotel manager WOULD NOT REFUND!!! Hotels.Com wouldn’t do anything. I called the hotel myself AND THEY HUNG UP ON ME!!! I called back and they hung up again. I hope the Days Inn chain sees this and CLOSES THIS HOTEL!! DON’T STAY HERE!!! Did I say how DISGUSTING this place is??? Shame on Hotels.Com, Days Inn and the owner of this hotel!!!
