I want to be very clear up front: the staff at Lake Arrowhead Resort were all lovely. Every person we interacted with — from the front desk to the spa team — was friendly, professional, and clearly doing their best with what they’ve been given. None of my feedback is directed at them.
That said, the overall experience fell far below expectations, especially given the premium pricing and the way the resort is presented online.
We booked a couples massage for $432, expecting a full spa experience. The jacuzzi and steam room were both out of order, and this wasn’t disclosed in advance. The “relaxation lounge” was just four hard wicker chairs and a water cooler — no ambiance, no comfort.
The sound bath was held in a basement room beneath a loud gym, so the session was constantly disrupted by banging and thuds from above. Not exactly relaxing.
The guest room itself was also underwhelming — bland, dated, and not well maintained. The bathroom walls had what looked like vomit stains around the toilet, and the tile grout was uneven and discolored. It all just felt… sad. Not dirty enough to walk out, but nowhere near the quality you'd expect from a “resort.”
This place has potential — the location is great and the staff are gems — but the facilities, maintenance, and guest experience desperately need attention. I wouldn’t stay here again unless serious improvements are made.
