I'll start with the positives- service was friendly, maybe a bit slow, but good. Internet access was working well after a slow connection start.
Now, with the negatives. Very uncomfortable bed, woke up with lower back pain after both nights. TV didn't work. Very uncomfortable chairs. Bathrooms were just weak. Water temperature for the shower was difficult to control, often felt I was gonna scold myself with how hot the water got. Toilet was difficult to flush, having to press on the tank cover to get it to flush without breaking the flush lever. Nightstands and table looked old and outdated. Wall trim was chipped in several areas. Room looked less than plain, just pale and pathetic.
Oh, and it looked like another individual (or 2) looked to be living in a room as a regular home.
No access to the pool, despite it being the summertime.
For what I paid for the room for 2 nights, it truly felt like a rip-off.
Roanoke is a great place to visit. The hotel, however, does the city no favors.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Despite the friendly service and good internet access, I will not stay at this hotel again. Next time I'm in Roanoke, I'll stay somewhere else in or around the area.
