The hotel appeared to be in desperate need of repair. The carpets were torn, the walls and baseboards were dirty, the doors and moldings were in need of cosmetic repair, the halls had an oder, and it was just overall dirty. The parking lot had trash all around it. I have been a guest at other Sleep Inns, and they were fine and most of all clean. I have never completed a hotel review or any other review until now.

BAD: The carpeting in this hotel is disgusting. The third floor reeks; walking on the carpet without shoes is a definite no-no. I would not let children walk, crawl, or sit on this carpet! The pillows are those miniature pillows, 10 X 10, even with two, it's difficult to sleep. If I had a partner, we would kill each other over the two pillows. Towels were thin and tiny. The remote control was nonexistent, and a replacement did not work. The only Ice machine was on the first floor, which meant a trip up to the room, get the bucket, come back down, and go back up. If I had my grandkids with me and had to drag them up and down, I would have been annoyed. GOOD: Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful. The beds were comfy (despite the pillows), and I slept OK. The breakfast was adequate, the coffee was good, and they offered flavored cream, which was a plus.

Smelt of skunk weed everywhere. They used a 100 deposit which you do not get back for 7days I have photos. Stained bedding, dust months old on surfaces. Carpet is old and stained. We went and bought cleaning supplies and did it ourselves. Or don’t forget the sock we found on the floor… that was not ours. The staff was helpful.

Upon arrival, I was required to pay a $100 deposit for incidentals, which felt unusually high for this particular hotel and was not clearly communicated beforehand. The bathroom itself was clean, but the rest of the room needed attention. The carpet did not appear to be vacuumed, light fixtures were very dirty, cabinets were worn with peeling paint, and there were visible dirty spots on the walls. There was also a strong mildew smell in the room, which made the stay uncomfortable. That said, the staff was excellent—very polite, professional, and helpful throughout my stay.

Far better than I thought

I had read the negative comments but hoped for the best during my trip. I was pleasantly surprised! My room was very nice, clean and comfortable. I had no complaints about the cleanliness of the room at all. Even the female staff member at the front desk was very accommodating as I called to ask for early check in before I arrived, I was told the fee amount, but when I arrived she did not charge me for it. The breakfast was tasty with a selection of items to choose from. It was a great experience overall and I would definitely stay here again. I did however notice that the hallway floor could be updated or thoroughly cleaned. Beyond that, it was a decent place to stay.
