The cabin was a great depiction of Alaskan living on a trail to the river boardrering Wrangell Elias NP. Great decor and comfortable beds. The owners were wonderful and served up a breakfast fit for a king. We would definitely recommend staying here to any one traveling to Alaska.

Staying here was one of the best memories of our trip to Alaska. James and his wife are amazing and fascinating people. So many great things about this stay. Breakfast was the best we had on the trip. I think as our family looks back on our trip to Alaska, this stay will be one of the first and best things we remember.

Excellent B&B
The cabin that we stayed in ( Hunter) was excellent from the seating area outside to the extremely comfortable bed to the hot water and water pressure in the shower. The hosts could not have been any more accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. This is all being said without talking about the delicious and filling breakfast. The bonus was the trails around the property leading to the rapid river which had several chairs for you to sit at and have a beer.

A slice of heaven!
Everything about this place is perfect. The location, nestled off a dirt road, in the woods, with a river running through it made for the most incredible experience. We were greeted by the friendly and knowledgeable host, James. He kindly showed us to our room and gave us an overall picture of his place. The cabin exceeded our expectations and the breakfast in the morning in the cook house was the final touch of a remarkable getaway. We will definitely be going back, and we will stay much longer. This lodge made our time in Alaska even more unforgettable!

Wonderful, memorable stay
This place is a gem in the Alaskan wilderness! Four of us stayed in the Bear cabin (one king bed, one bed in the loft, and a twin bed as well). The bed was heavenly! The breakfast was amazing and filled us up until dinner! The hosts, James and Christina, were so very kind and shared their experiences during the delicious breakfast! The property was beautiful, too... you could sit by the river or fire. I cannot believe how comfortable James and Christina made our stay, especially given the remoteness of the place! They provided bear spray, and even snacks and drinks for later in the day. Staying here will be a lovely, lifelong memory! My only advice would be to leave earlier than you think you need to from Fairbanks or Anchorage.

We spent 5 nights here and had such a memorable experience! The property is incredible with a lovely creek running through it! We stayed in Hunter cabin, which was decorated beautifully down to the last detail. Coming home to a hot shower & flushing toilets was a major bonus!
Owners James & Christina were so kind & hospitable! They go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you could possibly need or want. Breakfast is served every morning with delicious pancakes, bacon, hash browns, sausage, coffee, tea & oj! What a way to start the day!
Location is convenient for driving to McCarthy & Kennecott! We will definitely return to this magical place! We highly recommend it!

James and Cristina are friendly and gracious proprietors of three amazing cabins, conveniently located half way up the road to McCarthy/Kennicot. The cabins are rustic but new and cozy with everything needed for a comfortable night in the Alaska wilderness. The property is forested and beautiful on the edge of a river. They provide a separate cook house, where we were able to cook our own dinner (buy groceries in Glenallen) and where they cooked a huge breakfast for our party.
Note: please take their warning seriously to be prepared for flat tires along the road to McCarthy. Buy a Fix-A-Flat aerosol can in Anchorage, as you're unlikely to find them elsewhere.)

Best place in Alaska!!
This was the best place ever!! James & his wife have thought of everything. The cabins are so comfortable and quiet. You can walk the property, sit in chairs along the river and a fire pit at night. Breakfast in the Cook House in the morning is amazing. No cold danishes here. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give them 11!! Above and beyond on all levels. Thank you!!

James and Christina were absolutely wonderful hosts! They were so interesting to talk with and to share their knowledge and experiences living in Alaska. They want to provide their guests with a quality experience and comfort and they certainly do that.
Their cabins are awesome! The decor and thought put into these cabins are quality and comfort. Their cabins are by far are 10 times better than anywhere else we stayed while in Alaska; including the Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge.
Each morning they served a wonderful breakfast cooked on the Blackstone grill in the cookhouse. Breakfast was pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon sausage. Coffee, hot tea, milk and fresh orange juice, and bottled water.
The cookhouse was available for our use at any time. It had everything you would need to cook a meal; including spices and a refrigerator for our use.
We highly recommend this lodge for your stay in this area.

A piece of heaven in the wild
James and his wife are delightful. We called at the booking time. He was very informative about the area.
The best part of the stay was the comfortable king bed and cozy room. And then, there is the breakfast! THE best breakfast in Alaska! This our fourth trip to Alaska and we have been in the state for two weeks.
The Wi-Fi at the property was the best in Alaska. After two weeks of impossible to use Wi-Fi, this is a relief. There is a two way radio to communicate with him throughout the stay. That was a nice touch.

The property is just a gem. It's worth the drive and I can't recommend it enough. James and Cristina were awesome and you can tell that they've put their heart and soul into the cabins, property, and entire experience. From check in to checkout, they were available, but not intrusive.
The cabins were immaculate, décor on point with the surrounding area, and contained the modern amenities that many others in the area lack. Full bathrooms (water based toilet, shower, and sink), comfy beds, and just a wonderful ambience. You feel connected to the outdoors, but also safe and secure.
Your reservation comes with access to the cookhouse and it comes stocked with everything you'd need to cook and serve a 5 star meal. Fridge and freezer access. We brought burgers, dogs, and a few sides to make for dinner for 8, and nothing was lacking. James and Cristina utilize the cookhouse to make and serve you breakfast...and let's just say that it's very hearty. You won't go away hungry.
My only gripe was that we couldn't stay longer! Thanks James and Cristina! It was a wonderful experience and even though Alaska is full of beauty and adventure, staying at Wrangell Mountain Lodge was one of the main highlights of our trip.

We absolutely loved our time in Hunter Cabin. The decor was great! The bed and pillows were comfortable. We sat around a fire in the evening and met the other guests there. The owner helped us get the fire going. We walked along the creek and collected beautiful rocks. We sat in the lawn chairs and basked in the amazing mountain views! The breakfast in the morning was amazing home cooked meal with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and pancakes with fresh ground coffee beans for the coffee! Amazing! I recommend this place for everyone!

A Full B&B with tons of extra Free Ammenities.
When we booked this hotel it had very few reviews and pictures. Having stayed there now it makes sense why they have recieved tons of top reviews. We thought we booked a hotel, but this is 4 small cabins on private property that is a full B&B. The rooms were cozy, well decorated and had full flushable plumbing and hot showers. It is convieniently located halfway up the McCarthy road. The WiFi in the cabins was the best we had during our whole Alaska trip, we were able to stream shows on our computer when we were worn out from hiking all day. Lets also talk about food, this far out on the McCarthy road there are really zero food options. Bring your own food, they provide both a full fridge and kitchen to cook whatever you would need in their cook house. No need to worry about breakfast though, they have quick cereal to go options if you want but the hosts were willing to wake up whenever we were ready to cook us a full breakfast each morning. I'm talking 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage and bacon plus orange juice and apple juice made individually for each person. You can't beat the view around the cabin or the creek that runs right behind them to walk along. If you are planning to go to McCarthy/Kennicot, you would be a fool not to stay here as a couple.

This property is off the grid. You are surrounded by woods in the Wrangell Mts. This was an experience just travelling McCarthy Road to get to the lodge. The hosts provided an amazing breakfast each day. What a memorable stay.

Opportunity to experience a bit of Alaska off the grid but with modern conveniences of en-suite flush toilets and hot showers. Owners are very hospitable. Large cookhouse breakfast was included and cookhouse was available for preparing your own lunch and/or dinner. Good location for exploring the park.
