When we arrived on a Thursday evening, it was late and we were tired. I got the room key and we moved our car close to the door near our room (#104). It said to use room key, but when I tried it wouldn’t work. When I went in to tell the desk clerk that our keys didn’t work, she said with attitude, “What do you mean they don’t work. Your room is down this way.” I told her about the outside door and she said, “The outside doors don’t work!.” I’m not used to being met with attitude and impatience. It was late and we’d been driving all day. Not a great way to start, but I was too tired to address it further. We went to our room and were met by a strong musty, “old”, dank smell. Again, too tired to deal with it that night and not wanting to deal with the same woman again, we went to bed.
The following morning I talked to the desk person about it. She said she’d have someone clean something and she’d spray a deodorizer. We got back to the room the following evening (9-ish) and were met by the same strong smell. I went to tell the desk clerk and said we were staying that night but weren’t going to stay the last night of our reservation. Thankfully, we did receive a refund for the third night and partial refund for the other two nights.
Lastly, there was only a super-thin comforter on the bed and a significant hole in the carpet in the bedroom. Very disappointing stay.
