We stayed 2 nights in a room with stairs up to the bedroom. Our air conditioner did not work which we reported to the front desk after the first night. The second night it still was not working and it was super uncomfortable and hot so both nights with little sleep. The stairs down from the bedroom loft were so noisy that it was impossible to not wake up your partner if you had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night or up early the next morning.Seating in the room was not overly comfortable as well. Great location and the staff were very nice. The problem was probably just our room which was 304.

Excellent location on historic square with parking garage. Our room was on top floor and bedroom in the loft. Only one tiny little window in lower section and zero airflow or way to cool room as a/c wasn't permitted to be turned on yet according to front desk staff. Floor lamp didn't work, and one bedside light wouldn't stay on. Had to request a fan to cool off the place and kinda funny that it only came with a 4 foot cord so couldn't put it near the small window to blow in the cooler air. Otherwise a nice hotel.

Overall, our stay at Hotel Greif was fantastic! We had a small hiccup at the beginning that’s not worth describing because they took care of it so quickly and seamlessly. Built in the 1500’s this place has been modernized for comfort. Beautiful remote area. Wonderful staff running the place. Great views! Quaint little bar on the first floor that offers cocktails and meats and cheeses. Very comfortable large king room. There is a library where one can relax and read or play games.Breakfast was very European with eggs cooked to order. Keep in mind there are stairs and no lift to keep the history alive.This place will forever be imbedded in my heart.

Hotel Greif is a lovely properly. Old town Bolzano is not that large and the hotel is right there off of Walthaplaz. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the train station and 7 minutes to the bus station-they are adjacent to one another. There are plenty of great restaurants just steps away. The rooms are a decent size for Europe-with bathrobes and slippers in the room. The room was clean and quiet with a tea and coffee maker in the room along with tea and cofee. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, fruit, choice of eggs made to order, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, some vegetables and desserts. I would easily stay here again. It is a lovely hotel in a great location. You will not be disappointed should you chose to book this property.

Absolutely stunning hotel and room. My double was on the top floor overlooking the iconic Bolzano square and even featured a baby-grand piano. Everything was spotless and stylish. There was an initial wobble with my reservation between Expedia and the hotel but the front desk was eventually able to sort it out. Some rooms are up a flight of stairs so those with mobility issues should double check with the hotel before finalizing the booking.
