We stayed 2 nights for the Blackpool air show (which was excellent). The hotel unfortunately has seen much better days. First problem, getting in! The large rotating doors are blocked off with flower pots. The door to the left jams when opening; and access to the right was blocked by smokers. Next, when waiting to check-in, staff members were arguing in front of guests. After that, we were given keys to a room. Opening our room door revealed other guests - a woman and her child were already in there. Awful for us, and terrifying for her. This should NEVER happen. We were provided with another room. The windows were dirty (as are carpets if you go looking), the beds are the very creakiest, noisiest of wooden-frame beds. If your partner moves, you wake up every time. Try to sleep without moving all night, it's uncomfortable and difficult. Add to that hotel bins being moved around in the yard below at 1am in the night and seagulls screaming outside the window at 4am. Pillows are rock hard. Linen/bathroom ok. Breakfast: not shown to a table. Food is below average, we recommend sticking to the toast or fruit as the cooked options are clearly cheap, low quality. Cereals: very limited options. Bar prices are low, but the barman disappeared for 10 mins, nowhere to be found. Checking out, they don't ask if you enjoyed your stay - they've clearly given up with customer satisfaction. It's a real shame, this hotel could be grand but it's clear everything has become sloppy and unloved.
