The service and the state of the room were lacking. This hotel used to be SpringHill Suites by Marriott. It was one of our favorite hotels. When we checked in, I was told that I would not have my own key to the room because the key machine was broken. The desk staff walked me to my room to unlock the door. He walked more than a half hallway ahead of me. I asked how is this safe for me and my children. I asked what am I supposed to do when I return to my car to get my children and luggage...I was expected to leave my door open. This was not going to work. I went back to the front desk, and the gentleman reluctantly gave me keys. There was a shredded window sheer that only covered 1/4 of the window. The bed didn't have a top sheet. There wasn't enough bathroom linens. There was no hand soap or shower gel. There were 2 containers of shampoo and 1 of conditioner. The TV remote didn't work. We couldn't find a phone in the room. When we checked out, we found the phone down on the floor between the nightstand and bed. We had to call for assistance for what we needed. Instead of sending someone with our items, or even politely requesting someone to come to the front desk, we were told, rather gruffly, to come down and get it ourselves. No asking - telling, nearly demanding. We paid a premium rate for this.
