We had a pleasant stay overall, but there were several issues that kept this from being a higher-rated experience.
The staff were genuinely friendly, helpful, and worked hard throughout our stay. The breakfast was very good, and we also enjoyed the restaurant. One suggestion would be to create a separate coffee station at the breakfast buffet, as the current layout causes unnecessary congestion.
The beds were very comfortable, and we slept well.
Unfortunately, there were several maintenance and housekeeping issues. The hotel website advertises air conditioning, but our room never became comfortably cool. The room also was not fully prepared for new guests. There were no toiletries at either the sink or the shower, and no tissues were provided.
The in-room safe did not work because it appeared to need new batteries. We notified reception, and someone came to our room, but the problem was not resolved during our stay. The minibar also did not keep beverages sufficiently cold.
Finally, while the hotel itself is attractive, travelers should know that it is some distance from Lucerne and not the most convenient base for sightseeing there.
With better attention to room preparation and maintenance, this could be an excellent property. The outstanding staff and comfortable beds were the highlights of our stay.
