I’m giving this inn a B- primarily due to the lackluster service from the man who owns the property. Service is crucial in hospitality, yet during my stay, the owner did not acknowledge my presence. From arrival to departure, he neither greeted my daughter nor me, nor did he inquire about our stay. He consistently avoided eye contact with me, although I observed that he did engage with other guests throughout our stay.
In such an intimate setting, the expectation is that the innkeeper will provide consistent, high-quality interactions with all guests, regardless of race, gender or ethnicity. Thankfully, the rest of the staff did not emulate his behavior; they were kind, attentive, and responsive, which salvaged our experience at this otherwise well-regarded inn.
