great place

we enjoyed our 1 night stay. Cabin is what you expect for the price - clean and comfortable though, hosts were nice, good food, offer tours and jeeps up Mt Batur. would stay again

It was a very nice stay. Simple arrangement yet comfortable (especially big comfy bed). Possible to get good food, order taxis, organise a trek to Batur volcano, hot springs. Basically right at the starting point for the trek to Batur. Nice people too!

Ligner mere Hotels, men ok til enkelt overnatning

Prisen var billig, derfor 3 stjerne. Det er mere som et hostel. Værelset er ikke større end en dobbeltseng lige kan stå der, ingen plads til en taske ved siden af. Der er meget lydt, så kan høre alt fra nabohuset. Eget badeværelse, men så er der heller ikke mere at sige om det. Der er fælles samlingsbord. Ligger ca. 15 minutters gang fra et lokalt spisested, ellers ikke andet. Kan sagtens bruges til enkelt overnatning i forbindelse med solopgang til Batur, men ikke til flere dages daseferie.

Hiking accomodation

Summary We'd recommend the Bamboo house for one night specifically to the do the hike only. Go for the cheapest room. We booked two nights at the bamboo house, via Hotels.com, with the idea of hiking Mount Batur. Presumably like many other people visiting the area. We booked the king size deluxe room, the one with the triangular bamboo ceiling/roof, which was twice the price of a standard room. When we arrived we were shown to a standard room. After realising we hadn't been provided the room we paid for I enquired with the manager. After I released that both deluxe rooms were taken already, I suggested to him that we just stay in the provided room for the first night and in exchange we could be provided with some free drinks and food. This was well accepted. The reception staff (who are also the chef's and I think the cleaners!) are very kind and welcoming. The manager is also a very nice guy. The rooms are not materially different in our opinion between standard and deluxe. We would recommend you book the cheaper options. Water was clean, and hot. Linen clean. Mattress and pillows okay, but well used. Deluxe room had a very hard mattress. Standard room had a super soft mattress. The rooms were clean, considering they are made of bamboo. Considering the star rating and the area of the hotel it's just exactly as per expectations. I think they might need a better sign posting for the road/entrance which is off-road

Værelset var i en dårlig tilstand, mine lagener var beskidte med store pletter på, og der var ikke håndsæbe på badeværelset. Tapeten skræller af, listerne var i stykker, der var tydelige huller igennem taget hvor gekkoer og andre dyr kravlede igennem. Badeværelset lugtede, og der var sprækker ud til fællesarealet i samlingen ved loftet og væggen. Kommunikationen med personalet var fint not, måske til den lettere forvirrende side. Der er ikke nogen spa, selvom hotels.com tror det. Der er ufatteligt mange fluer ved middagstid da de nærtliggende marker gøder med kompost. Værelset kan ikke anbefales. Der er ingen ordenlige spisesteder i nærheden, og taxier/gojek smider kun folk af i området, da de bliver truet af de lokale der har monopol på transporten.
